Faded Grey 6

October 2025 seems like a lifetime ago. Not because of the time that has passed between May 2026 (the date of which I’m writing this blog) and October 2025, but because of how much the world has changed since then.

In October 2025, I recorded “Faded Grey 6,” the sixth installment from my lo-fi, chillout, guitar-driven side project, Faded Grey.
I have spoken a lot in the past about how I came up with the idea of this project, how we record the songs, and how it’s the alter ego of Greyfade, my main heavy musical outlet.

I’m not going to repeat myself and talk about any of the above here. Instead, I’m going to talk about how much the essence and meaning of Faded Grey is important for me today.

I live in the UAE and I’m originally from Lebanon, a country that I visit regularly.

As many of you know, war has broken out in the region where I live.

People in Lebanon, unfortunately, are used to war. We Lebanese have developed a thick skin for it. I don’t know if it’s something to brag about or to be sad about, but this is the reality of the matter. Every now and then something terrible happens in Lebanon and as the saying goes, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” Literally.

None of us, however, expected the war to hit neighboring, safe countries. That changed people's realities and their perception of life. All of a sudden luxury, parties, money, careers, new cars, and new houses didn’t matter anymore and people were scared, and they were focusing on just surviving amidst all the uncertainty around them.

Things have calmed down a little bit in the region (not in Lebanon though), but the uncertainty still persists.

Now you may be wondering why I’m talking about all this in what’s supposed to be a music blog, but bear with me just a little more.

Today, May 1 2026, I listened to “Faded Grey 6” for the first time since approving the mixes sent to me almost six months ago. Along with that, I was looking and editing some behind-the-scenes footage of the recording session that took place back then.

As I was looking at those videos and listening to the music, it felt like I was looking at my teenage years or school days. I transcended to happier, older times even though, as I mentioned, the recording took place only seven months ago.

However, so much has happened in those seven months that I feel way older. Those seven months honestly feel like 20 years.

But then, I saw how much focused, relaxed, happy, and in the moment we were while recording those songs and then it hit me—the main message behind Faded Grey is being in the moment, living the zeitgeist, and writing and recording what the universe channels through me in those moments.

I thought to myself that I should apply that to my life in these uncertain times. Shut off the noise around. Shield away the negativity that constantly bombards. Just be.

I don’t know and I can’t control what will happen in the future of the world. However, I can control mine. I don’t know if the regional war is going to resume. I don’t know if Lebanon will ever find peace. I don’t know if this uncertainty that we are living in will persist. I don’t know any of that, but I know that I can focus on my own little world and make it better by doing the things that I like and surrounding myself with people that matter to me. The rest is beyond my control.

Atlantis. Longing. Fog. Vague. We are Done. Those are the titles of the songs. We came up with these titles on the spot as we finished recording each respective song. Looking back at them now, they seem poignant.

I hope the world won’t turn into the lost city of “Atlantis.” I have a “Longing” for peace and prosperity in Lebanon, UAE, and the rest of the region and the world. We are living in a “Fog.” The future is “Vague.” However, “We (I) are done” with this madness. From now on, I’ll live by Faded Grey’s ethos. I’ll live in my moment, my zeitgeist, and just be.
